Sore fingers

Bryan Adams was great!
Was an outdoor gig at some place that I can't remember the name of in Derby....yes I can Keddleston Hall. Was ace. Someone jumped in the river for a couple of backstage passes and stuff, and he got a girl to come up on stage and sing Baby when your gone, because Mel C wasn't around. And she was actually very good, which is relieving because I like that song, and it's always the danger when you drag people out of the audience to sing, that they're going to be tone deaf howler monkeys. Her singing voice didn't match her speaking voice tho, (if you know what I mean...she didn't sing how you thought she would judging by her voice when she spoke,) which makes me suspicious that it was recorded and they dubbed over her, but you never know.
Anyway we stayed over, the hotel wasn't as bad as the reviews said it would be, in fact the on'y faults I can say was that there was no air conditioning, and the room was a little too small. Apart from that it was clean and comfortable. Apparently Derby is short on hotels...
And my fingers are sore because I've come back and practised on my...sorry..gary's..guitar for about an hour and a half. I'm improving...I can now do the pentatonic scale forwards AND backwards and I only make a few mistakes...guitar lesson tomorrow hopefully...I can't wait for my fingers to callous over so it doesn't hurt anymore.
I actually seem to have found something that I am a bit enthusiastic about...that and making home made cards for people's birthdays and things! And singing...I'm about to print off some more lyrics...

Wonderful weekend

So yeah, I had a great weekend.
Went out on friday night which I haven't done for a while, and spent saturday with Gary.
Sunday I spent lazing around, and Monday I took off and spent that with Gary too. He's teaching me to play guitar, but I'm having some problems distinguishing between strings with my eyes. I don't know, I'll persevere, but if I can't see the strings then I might stick to just inging. See how it goes.
Sarah has a new boyfriend, Scott, so hopefully she'll calm down a bit now, tho he's not the most mature guy in the world, he's nice enough I suppose, and Sarah likes hime so I guess thats all that matters.
I'm in two minds whether or not to sell my bass. I haven't played it since I bought it, and I don't know if I can learn guitar and bass at the same time. plus I'm borrowing a guitar off Gary at the mo, one which he wants to sell on ebay, and I don't think I can afford to buy it off him wthout selling the bass. Have to say the guitar is damned sexy, is a Fender electro acoustic in black. I dunno, I like em both. Maybe I should just get a loan out and get everything!

Who?

So there's not much happened for a bit. Just the general work-sleep cycle that is my life.
Went to see the Who on thursday which was good. They still rock (nothing beats Def Leppard tho). Bought some fish for my tank, ordered a moos thingy for Caroline's birthday...its cute, its a little amorphous blob thing with a cute face that glows and pulses and also flashes in time to music. I think she'll like it, it's silly and cute at the same time.
Gary is getting me singing again, which reminds me I'll have to go and look for some songs that I like and find TAB and chordature for them...maybe I'll get good enough to play and sing them myself, then I won't have to rely on Gary's unreliable 'yeah sure we can practise tomorrow's.
Of course to do that I need a decent guitar and sound system, which let's face isn't gonna happen with the money I have.

Anyway, enough moaning, I'm off to find some songs to sing...maybe I'll drive my mum and dad up the wall by singing them. After all they've been driving me up the wall by arguing...over the fucking video recorder and the sideboard for fuck's sake...I need a flat of my own...
