Weddings

It was wonderful. Caroline looked gorgeous, radiant and beautiful. Her dress was lovely and when I have my pics sorted I'll put some up to show you. My brother was nervous and emotional, but he looked so happy.
The reading went well, better than I expected, which was good. I feel I didn't let my brother and Caroline down on the day which was all I was worried about. When it came to the reception, the meal was lovely, and I was sitting with my cousin Heather and her husband Paul and we had a good old chat, about all sorts of things including our diabetes, my slight gayness and tongue piercings, oh and weddings, there was a lot of wedding talk. Then came the speeches, Father of the bride, then The Groom's speech, and I am not ashamed to say I cried when my brother did his speech, he was emotionall and shaking, my mum was in tears, Caroline was in tears, and most of the bridesmaids too. It was very touching heh.
The evening do was good, the disco man played good dancy songs and got everyone up and on the dancefloor. Unfortunately the drinks at the hotel bar were extortionately expensive...we're talking £15 for two whiskey and cokes! so after the first dance bit, my dad snuck off to the local off licence and smuggled in a half of whiskey and two halfs of vodka so we only needed to buy soft drinks...they were expensive enough but it worked out ok. Id did mean I got a bit drunker then I would normally have done lol...by the end of the night I was teary and emotional again, and had to hug everyone I could lay my hands on, including all of the ushers, the two best men, all the bridesmaids, the girls from Chris's work who I'd been dancing with, various members of both families and a couple of friends of the family who had turned up. Some of them got more than one hug, and chris got a hug every time he went past, and so did Caroline.
It was a lovely day, a brilliant night and I think everyone enjoyed themselves immensely, including the gatecrashers that appeared who were staying in the hotel for a 50th birthday weekend lol. I am so happy for Chris and Caroline, they have gone off to Italy now for two weeks in a quiet little villa, and I wish them every happiness. My brother is a very lucky man, because Caroline is a special lady, and Caroline is a very lucky woman because my brother is the kindest, loveliest guy I know. And I'm not just saying that because he's my brother, it's a well known fact...all the girls at his work and everyone I meet that knows him agrees with me.
